With some 4000 of the world's
best athletes with a disability from 143 countries competing, the Paralympics
are the second largest sport event in the world!
The Paralympic Games competition schedule includes 19 sports. Fifteen of them
are shared with the Olympic Games, while the other four are exclusively
Paralympic. The four "unique" sports that are played at the Paralympic Games are: Boccia, Goalball, Powerlifting and Wheelchair Rugby.

John Siciliano (USA), class T42. At the 200 meter track events John found that
his prosthesis would not stay on. Refusing to give up, he picked up his prosthesis
and continued to make his way to the finish line jumping on one leg.
