Paralympic Games FOLLOW LIEVEN IN VANCOUVER ON FACEBOOK The Paralympic Games for elite athletes with a disability are held just a few weeks after the Olympic Games in the same host city and venues. There are also both Summer and Winter Games. The Paralympic Summer Games are the second largest and one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world featuring 20 sports. A total of 3,951 athletes from 146 different countries around the world were present in Beijing to compete in their respective sport. As official photographer of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) I've covered the ATLANTA 1996, SYDNEY 2000, ATHENS 2004 and BEIJING 2008 Paralympic Summer Games and the SALT LAKE 2002 and TORINO 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. On this website you can find an extensive selection of photos from past Paralympics. All these photos are protected by copyright and should not be taken from this site. For every promotional, editorial or commercial use, copyrights have to be paid. You can also buy photos for personal use: photo prints or enlargements for your office or home.
